Crook, Colorado
Colorado
Crook is a small ranching town in Logan County on Colorado's northeastern plains, established along the Union Pacific Railroad. Its post office opened May twenty-sixth, eighteen eighty-two, and the town was incorporated on September twenty-third, nineteen eighteen. The name honors General George Crook, one of the Union Army's notable Civil War commanders who later became a leading figure in the Indian Wars of the West. Today Crook remains a small agricultural community along Interstate Seventy-Six at the edge of the Nebraska border.
