Herrett Center for Arts and Science
Near Twin Falls, Idaho
On the College of Southern Idaho campus in Twin Falls sits one of the most complete natural-history and fine-art collections in the intermountain West. The Herrett Center opened in nineteen eighty and holds more than forty thousand objects spanning anthropology, geology, and art. Its crown is an exceptional pre-Columbian collection, including pottery and textiles from cultures across the Americas.
The attached Faulkner Planetarium, added in nineteen ninety-five, is the largest planetarium theater in Idaho. For a city of fifty thousand people on the Snake River Plain, it is a quietly remarkable resource, and admission to the museum galleries has always been free.
