The Marsh Foundation School

Ohio

On the outskirts of Van Wert, Ohio, the Marsh Foundation occupies a campus of twenty-four historic buildings on land that once belonged to George H. Marsh, a farmer who settled in Van Wert County as a boy and spent the rest of his life there. When Marsh died in nineteen twenty, his will established a foundation dedicated to helping destitute children and families in northwestern Ohio.

School buildings were constructed in the mid nineteen twenties, and the campus began accepting residents. Today many of the campus buildings are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The Marsh Foundation has been providing residential treatment, foster care, and education for boys ages seven through seventeen for more than a century.
