Macedonia Church of Christ

Alabama

Macedonia Church of Christ carries roots reaching back to the early eighteen hundreds, when believers gathered in their own homes. A meeting house is said to have been built on this site in eighteen thirty-four. The turning point came in eighteen eighty, when T.

B. Larimore, a noted evangelist among the Churches of Christ, was invited to preach, and the congregation took the name Macedonia Church of Christ. It worshipped here for generations as a country church in rural Lauderdale County.

In two thousand two its leadership moved the congregation to a more visible spot in the Central Heights community, and in twenty fifteen it changed its name again, becoming Cornerstone Church of Christ. The old marker still tells where it all started.
