Lehi, Utah
Near Provo, Utah
Few towns in Utah have been renamed as many times as Lehi. The first settlers who arrived in the fall of eighteen fifty called it Sulphur Springs, for the mineral water seeping from the ground. Then it became Dry Creek.
Then Evansville, after local bishop David Evans. When Evans petitioned the territorial legislature for incorporation in eighteen fifty-two, the town was given its final name: Lehi, after a wandering patriarch from the Book of Mormon, who led his family out of Jerusalem and across the sea. The legislature incorporated it on February fifth, eighteen fifty-two, Utah's sixth oldest town.
Today Lehi is one of Utah's fastest-growing cities, home to a dense cluster of technology companies sometimes called the Silicon Slopes.
