Hampton Falls, New Hampshire
New Hampshire
Hampton Falls became a town separate from Hampton in seventeen twenty-six, after serving as Hampton's Third Parish since seventeen oh nine. The name came from a series of falls on the Taylor River that powered early grist and sawmills. Those mills supported a modest local economy. Today Hampton Falls is one of New Hampshire's quieter towns, with roughly twenty-four hundred residents and a largely agricultural character.
